Wayne Law and Windsor Law, working in partnership with the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center, have formally announced the launch of the first transnational environmental law clinic in North America. This is a tremendous accomplish for all the institutions involved and for the region as a whole. The new transnational partnership will allow students from both schools to gain practical experience working on US-Canadian environmental issues such as energy development in the Great Lakes. It will also give the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center the legal resources to effectively and strategically protect the Great Lakes from threats such as invasive species on both sides of the border. Nick Schroeck, the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center’s Executive Director, and Prof. Marcia Valiante of Windsor Law, will be directing this new program.
